Come on, tell Bob, John, Greg and Paul to see the overwhelming response to Petra outside the USA! They could continue a productive carrer abroad. A lot of artists do this are succesful. What about the material that was begun for the second album for INPOP? Sue any clues?

Those festivals do not occur frequently enough to sustain any current band, much less one that has retired. While your country may have some good turnout, most will not.

Bands no longer make money or are able to collect on international CD sales. This is true for any Christian band. Any USA Christian ministry essentially has to go fully funded by Americans, or able to eat the expenses themselves.

The best place for Christian music to survive as a product is where capitalism works, laws are enforcable, and where there is a large percentage of Christian buyers. Statistically, that is in the USA. It costs too much money to operate and tour internationally, and it is too hard to get paid by those well meaning churches, ministers and promoters.

Countries with low percentages of orthodox Christian churches (I mean that as an adjective and not a title) are unfortunately unable to sustain a presence of Christian music, or have need of it. When there are few churches, there are few believers. There is almost no full time radio in those cases, or few Christian shows that people know about.

I have been studying this thing for a while for other reasons. There are things much more important than concerts and CDs in some countries. Basic needs for one. But, there ought to be a way for missionaries and their sending agencies to network and bring in concerts/artists. Make the concerts a USA sponsored gift to the churches in other countries.

fcallazo, they know fully how popular Petra is in other countries.... more than the U.S. at this point. Europe has been very good too.

But like Brent said - you first must have a promoter in that country who is willing to pay the expenses to get them there plus their honorarium. It gets very expensive.

Material for Inpop: as far as I know, it's in Bob's possession, obviously, since it's his work. If he felt it was good enough to release he would have done so in some manner, so I wouldn't hold out hope for this.

Reunion

Ok. Point taken. I once asked Bob about a Petra anthology or to release for Petra collectors the old proffessionally recorded concerts that they had in their archives, and he said that he would ask INPOP to do a bundle with the concert DVD, which never happened. I told him that to me Petra was like The Beatles of christian music, so they had such a big legacy, it could be another bussiness venture for him, and at the same time keep the spirit of Petra alive and present in the minds of fans. Thanks to Trodland I got to see all the Petra I missed all my life, since I learned about them in 1987 and could only see them live for the first time in 1995. By the way a recorded that Shofar, Missouri 1995 show that is on Trodland's website. Please plea with Bob to release archives of sound and video for our enjoyment, at whatevert pace he wants!

I always dream with a "Petra Antologhy".... a material for the PetHeads but preparing looking for share the compromise and the ministery that a Servants of God need to have... and of course a testimony to the people who doesnt know about Jesus....

I will pay for it!

Blessings
