Favorite Greg X Volz(solo) album?

Post by petrafreak2009 » Sat Dec 22, 2007 2:18 pm

My favorite would have to be No Room in the Middle. I love the title song, and the rest just drive the message home. The close second to this would be No Greater love, with hits like the title track and "Could It Be?". What's your opinion and why?

I would say The River is Rising, but Come Out Fighting would be a very close second. With both albums it's due to the strength of the songs. They are both just better overall albums than any of the others, though the others all of their great moments as well.

I think "The River Is Rising" is probably Volz's strongest solo project, likely because he was just coming straight from his career with Petra and was at the top of his game. It was also the only album that I feel had consistently good songs from beginning to end. Some of his later albums, while generally good, had a couple of clunkers here and there.

On a related note, Volz's take on Aerosmith's "Dream On" puts the original to shame.

No Room in the Middle. I especially like the title track, with its crazy bass line.

River is Rising is my fav. I also saw Greg with Pieces of Eight in Oct of 86 at the Worcester Memorial Auditorium in MA. Great show and Joe English was playing drums.

Our value comes in the fact we live
