Drums needed for South Bend, IN "Studio B" taping!

Post by sue d. » Thu Apr 24, 2008 11:16 am

Does anyone know anybody who would be willing to loan their drum kit to John's solo drummer for ONE day on May 5 for the "Live at Studio B" taping in South Bend, IN?

We're having trouble with backline; since the band is flying in from Seattle they obviously can't bring any of this with them. Flying out for India the very next day complicates matters further.

So if anyone has any connections to someone who would be willing to loan their drum kit out for a few hours, we'd be forever indebted!

I have a pretty basic kit at my house that is loanable if they can get it from Grand Rapids.

They can't really go and get anything... they're flying in to Chicago, then driving to South Bend and will get there just in time to rehearse.

But thanks for the offer!

Are you kidding?

Harvest Productions is there.
Sweetwater Sound is there.
Gaither is there...somewhere.
Call Guitar Center and ask the drum guys about it. Ask if they know of a backline rental co or studio that would loan/rent. Their number is 574-247-0131.

Fine, go with the fly-by-night backline joint.

Don't give this Pethead a dream come true.

Actually, they'd probably spend more money overnighting and rigging my kit than renting locally. And maybe I don't want some stranger beating on what's rightfully mine.

As long as a drummer has his/her pedals, snare and cymbals, anything can be made to work in a pinch.

Studio B production values aren't going to allow the differences in a DW or a CB700 to come through.

I am surprised the guys in the studio won't go over to the church and borrow a kit.

I think I'm going to beat on YOU, Jonathan!

I have a call into Studio B to see what connections they have. I'm sure we'll come up with something.

You see, this is the problem you get when you don't hire John's lActual Band

There is only one John Schlitt solo band and that is ANDBAND. Anything else would be uncivilized. (To quote the old commercial)

Just hire AndBand and get it over with. I don't ever remember AndBand "borrowing" backline from anyone. AndBand always came prepared!! WHo are these pretenders to the thrown anyway.

Join me fellow Petheads in a revolt!! Bring Back ANDBAND!!!

PAid for by the commitee to bring back Andband in all it's glory...

J/k I'm sure these newbies sound fine... That is they "would sound fine" if they had equipment!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

It's throne not thrown right?

I think the thing is logistics.

Sue can comment on John's band(s) situation.

Brent... Seriously? I would think you of all people would recognize sarcasm and a wistful joking post when you see one. I would hope. Apparently not.

Although I did think that I peppered my comment with enough yucks for even the most staunch seriousisticrat (Yes that is a made up word) to catch my meaning.

I spelled throne that way on purpose as if we were thrown out. I don't know who these logistics are but I wouldn't bring them into it. John's already got his hands full with too many bands. (Yes more humor)

But Brent you bring up a good point old sport... Sue, Andband is much closer than Seattle to where John is playing.

Hey, It was good old fashioned humor my dear sir. AndBand wouldn't even be able to do this right now any way.

Hmmm, Maybe it's been waaaaaaayyyy too long since I've posted. Have people forgotten what a funny guy I am??

This does not boad, bode, boade, boud (Yes I don't know how to spell this word) well for our hero Enosh, or for John if his sidekick Backline (sounds like a superhero name) doesn't save the day!!!

Tune in next week friends for the exciting conclusion!!!!!!!!

Sorry. I am slow. As a professional smarty pants, I should have got that one.

We (PDC buddy Alan, his boy Vince, JDBs son Jesse and myself) just returned from RUSH in OKC. Man, THAT is a band! They can play the pants off of anyone at any age.

It was a sold out arena show. I wonder how many Christians were there? I wonder why a super talented Christian group can't fill arenas? I don't think that there ever has been a Christian group as talented as RUSH, but there have been groups that were more talented than say Airbourne, Nickleback, Saliva, NIN, etc. All of that music is one dimensional at best.

Back to John's band. I hear the Nashville band is pretty salty.

Enosh! Yes, it has been WAY too long since you've posted, and I wonder if anyone here remembers the ever-so-famous ANDBAND!!!

Ah... those were the days of crazy practices in my backyard (and I wasn't even there!), broken-down vehicles and 90 degree Peoria heat! (and I won't even MENTION the lack of hotel rooms and bunking arrangements!) lololoLOLOLOL!

Yes, we could use Andband to Save the Day right now! remember "Here he comes, to save the day!" (a cartoon addict such as you should remember that!)

Brent, you missed that one, buddy.... you & Enosh need to hang out more! Throw Bridget (calicowriter) in the mix and you'll be NECK DEEP in thick, sarcastic humor! hahaha!

Brent, who do you think has the talent to sell out arenas in the Christian market?

Is it hype or talent that sells out arenas? Not disparaging Rush, they have a great show.

Based on talent, I would have thought Glass Harp could sell out an arena, if only people knew.
