I love the guys at Crosswalk. They are always supportive of Christian Rock, Petra, and guys like us. But, I have to wonder if comments re: personal preferences of the reviewer are helpful to stimulating interest in the present direction (The Grafting) of John Schlitt.

What do you guys think about the comments at the end where the John is called a "throwback" for we nonconforming classic rock lovers?
HAS ANYONE LISTENED TO MOTLEY CRUES "SAINTS OF LOS ANGELES"? LISTEN TO THE VOCALS, THEN LISTEN TO PETRA'S "J & H". TELL ME WITH A STRAIGHT FACE THAT SCHLITTZY COULDN'T BLAST THAT PANZY PANTY-HOSE WEARIN', COKE SNORTING, WHINEY ALCOHOLIC VINCE NEAL OFF OF THE STAGE. JOHN WOULD KICK HIS BUTT!

This is the same review Christian Music Planet put up about a week ago:

I'm not sure what is meant by a 'throwback.' Is he saying that John's voice has that classic rock sound, made popular in the '70s? And this CD sounds like the '70s?
"stepping outside his own nostalgic sound " ..... I don't think Grafting sounds nostalgic at all! I mean, John didn't even write it - very little of it. Dan did almost all of it, and he was barely born when '70s rock was in full steam.
The only thing that I can think of that may be considered 'nostaligic' is John's voice - and even THAT is different than what it was in the past.
