Atlanta Area Schlitt-fans - concerts coming your way

Post by sue d. » Wed Sep 24, 2008 1:13 pm

Hey all - we have a little mini-tour coming up in the Atlanta area for John, and I'm looking for a church that would like to have John in for worship on Sunday, Oct. 12.

So far we have concerts on Oct. 8, 10, 11 and I'm still looking for a Sunday a.m. service. If that comes thru, a Sunday evening concert or worship service could be a possibility as well.

Here are the details:
http://johnwschlitt.com/fans/tour.htm

If any of you belong to a church in the area that might like to have John lead worship and give his testimony - give me a ring! Quick!

I heard from the promoter in Dacula that they're only allowing $20 fill-ups per pump visit? Huh?

Better get your extra bunk ready, microkoe!

Boutique Gas?

Post by BForm » Thu Sep 25, 2008 8:44 pm

Atlanta's gas situation should be alleviated this weekend. The problem is that the Atlanta area only uses "boutique" gas; a very high grade to limit the smog buildup. They have signed emergency legislation to allow "dirty" gas to be used until the refineries that have been shut down start up again. That should start arriving at the pumps this weekend. Most stations in our area were completely out this evening.

I would expact that it won't be an issue by the time John arrives here.

That's insane.... going in the middle of the night to fill up. Wow... you'd think this was some out-of-the-way foreign country or something.

fuel

Post by gman » Fri Sep 26, 2008 11:30 am

I've heard about the boutique fuel being a reason we are all paying more for Gas. What is the price down there? We were paying $3.23 at one point. It's gone up some, but it is still trending downward. I'm curious if the initial switch to boutique fuel helped alleviate the smog problem, or did it show that there wasn't a correlation between the smog and the gasoline engine?

We are paying roughly $3.50-$3.59 in the Dallas area, it was down to $3.18 at some places around town before Ike.
