This is my first time on the zone I have tried several times to get signed up and finally I got a user name and passnceword that worked.

In answer to sue's question about the video's I think that it is just a wishful thinker putting those out there.

Personally I think that if someone offered them the right amount of money, and a small tour, it might work but just a one time thing I don't blame some of them or one of them not wanting to do a reunion concert.

As a big fan of Petra I kind of would like to see it happen but at the same time I think I'm happy remembering them as they were in the past.

Just my opinion on the matter. :D

Sorry. On vacation. Re-read my and Brent's last posts. We need to increase the offer or increase the number of ticket holders by a factor of three or more, and that simply is impossible, based on research. Nobody could do lay down enough money to get everyone together for one week to re-learn the tunes, etc. We would have to cover hotels, meals, rehearsal hall, backline, transportation, cartage, etc. Nobody with any common sense would fund it.

So far NO Petra member has made any statement. Which I said before until we hear from them we all assuming either way!!

No artist makes statements in the matter of potential gigs. Sue will tell you that John, John and Bob as II Guys, and then Petra, NEVER made ANY statements about gigs in negotiation or gigs that fell through. They only make press statements when the deals are done.

For our group, the matter is closed. We have done the math. Unless we sell 500 tickets for $100 to $150 each (which is NOT going to happen), there is no way to pay each of these guys union scale, much less performance rates for 7 days prior to the show.

There is no interest from John L, Ronny or Louie in a tour.

The reunion idea was dead in the water, I seriously think there is like a dozen of us that wanted this to happen, end of story.

Bob never got back to us, we are just fan not promoters...

Brent it was worth a try.

geography is the big problem here. I'm sure globally there are more than enough fans to make a reunion gig possible, but to get enough fans to a single geographical location would be virtually impossible. Not many would have the funds or inclination to fly out for an already pricey one off gig.

You make some good points. Christian concert goers will not do what secular goers will do. Most Christians will not pay $50 for a Christian show. That is about the national average for secular concert GA and cheap seats.

Or mainstream artists have a much bigger pool of concert goers to pull from.

What do you guys think about this?

Greg X Volz
Bob Hartman
Mark Kelly
John Slick
Louie Weaver
I would love to see a reunion of this lineup. To me, this is every bit as much the dream team, as is the 88-93 lineup. They both created classic eras of Petra music. I think there are many here who sell Petra short by ignoring the importance of this lineup.

It's true this lineup is just as important... it put Petra on the map.. but it would still be less of an attraction to the more modern fans of the last 23 years.

You never know it might happen like that one day.. Bob reunited with Dove earlier this year and that was over 37+ years since they played together.
