Witch Hunt

Is it just me, or does anyone else think this track from Beat The System is brilliant? The veiled sarcasm, the lyrics....

The back masking was a nice touch too!

I love that song. I love that whole album. :D You don't hear too much about back masking now though. It's hard to believe BTS came out way back in 1984. :)

That was a good year for my Detroit Tigers...1984. I was 4 when they took it all.

Ah... good ol' Beat The System - one of my FAVORITES!! I liked Witch Hunt the first time I heard it. Actually, I liked ALL the songs off this album the first time I heard them.

But then, that's just par for the course if you're a Pethead. I can think of song after song after song, especially from the early 80's Petra and the quentessential Petra that rocked through the mid-90s, that are just as brilliant in their own unique ways.

1984:(

Post by ljlegner » Sat Mar 27, 2004 8:29 am

'84 wasn't kind to my Chicago Cubs, who were 1 win away from meeting the Tigers in the World Series before collapsing and losing 3 straight....kinda reminds ya of 2003...doesn't it?? Heck, we were only 5 outs away then. However, the Cubs WILL be in and win the '04 World Series! The curse ends now!!!!

I used pliers topic Jonathan's nose because it was so crusty.

Beat the System

Post by Johnna » Tue Mar 30, 2004 3:55 pm

I know Beat the System is one of Josh's favorite albums, and it is the only one of the Petra collection we don't have. Josh lost it when his entire collection was stolen two years ago and in Bolivia, I was never able to find it.

One of my top 3 favorite 'Cassettes' by Petra. I had to say cassette because thats all I had back then. And its quite worn out, might I add. Lucky I have it on CD now. Alot of my cassettes I can't even read the writting on them there so worn out!

The most notable thing about this album is that every song on it was written by Bob Hartman. It's a very tight album. 80's rock at its best.
