Just For Fun - Lead Singer Options

Post by BriGuyPEI » Sun Apr 04, 2004 8:55 pm

Following up on my promise from the "Big Announcement" thread, here is a discussion question for everybody:

If John Schlitt were to leave Petra, who would be a good choice to take over as lead singer?

Now I don't want to start a debate as to whether or not Petra should continue without John. This is just to see who else you think could handle the job of being Petra's frontman. In my previous post, I dropped the names Jamie Rowe, Rick Florian, and Lou Gramm for starters. Jamie would be awesome, but like I said, he's too busy already.

Any other thoughts?

Petra III

Post by BriGuyPEI » Mon Apr 05, 2004 7:52 am

Gary Cherone is a Christian too. Although, as Van Halen's third lead singer he pretty much killed the band (although now they're back with Sammy Hagar and planning to tour for the first time in like 5 years). We wouldn't want him killing Petra as their third major lead singer.

Yes it is true. Alice Cooper is a christian. I saw him a few years ago on James Robinson. He is not very louid about is because there may be people who want to kill him because he was in the church of satan.

I would love to here him sing again. For the only God.

I vote for Jamie Jamison, of Survivor....not the show but the rock group. Remember Eye Of The Tiger? Jamie's done some stuff with Mylon LeFevre and Broken Heart....possibly background vocals for Petra but I am not sure of that.

I've seen Jamie's name in the Christian circle as background vocalist for more then Mylon. I think he has a Petra quality about him.

I think I'm stuck in the 80s. :D Seriously, I just love to listen to
Steve Perry sing. I wouldn't care if he was from that particular decade or not. :)
