Learn something new today!

Post by seichu kaisho » Mon Jul 12, 2004 1:08 pm

Did you know. . .

Billy Idol made a song called "Beyond Belief"

Whitesnake and Newsboys both made songs called "Never Say Die"

Def Leppard mentioned Petra in the insert of the Hysteria album (unfortunately I don't think they were referring to the band)

The Def Leppard song "On Through the Night" is not on the album with the same name

There is a worship song called "Let Everything That Hath Breath" but sounds nothing like the Petra song similarly titled

U2 and Petra each made two consecutive albums ending with the words "War" and "Fire"

Real cool, eh?

Pretty cool, eh? Thought I would bring this back up to the top.

I also think that the Hartman / Herdman coincidence is amusing. Their first names are Bob, their last names are only 2 letters different, and they are both guitar players of popular Christian rock bands that departed from their respective bands' touring groups. Of course, only one of the two returned to tour with their band again (and we darn well know who that is).

More weird stuff:

DeGarmo and Key's 1986 album title has the word "street" in it.

Harvest's 1988 album title has the word "fire" in it.

Stryper also made a ballad called "First Love," and it is even the fourth track on its album.

U2 and Stryper both made songs called "Surrender," both of which are the ninth track on their own album. Both songs are in the same key, Eb minor.

Jars of Clay's debut album has 6 consecutive songs in the same key - the key of G.

The Yellow and Black Attack by Stryper might be perhaps of shorter duration than Petra's Jekyll and Hyde, but I didn't time them so I don't know for sure.

it amazes me that

U2 and Def Leppard both released their first 3 albums in 1980, 1981, and 1983.

U2's greatest hits compilation of the 80's has an extra song on it from the year 1998 (Sweetest Thing).

Ironically, the Yellow and Black Attack cd only has red print on it.

Slang is the only Def Leppard album cover in which their typical band name logo does not appear. The same is true for Stryper's album Against the Law.

The Newsboys has released an album every even-numbered year since 1988.
