Operation Powerlink Videos

I don't know if you remember a while back me mentioning Petra's involvement with Operation Powerlink and the World's Largest Pizza Party. That's where that live clip from 1993 came from (hosted on JWS site). Anyway, my wife was recently hired as the youth director at our church. As she was cleaning the office and throwing out old stuff she wouldn't need, she came across this box containing videos and literature for this World's Largest Pizza Party. It was a package for youth directors to prepare for the party, with some devotionals, some handouts, and two videos. She was going to throw it away, but I kept it, figuring there would probably be some Petra stuff on it. In fact, the package contained sheets with the lyrics to Sight Unseen on it. I thought maybe someone at the Zone would be interested in it.

So I brought the videos home and watched them. All the first tape had music-wise was the MWS video Place In This World. On the second tape there was a Kenny Marks video. I was still waiting for Petra. Then I started hearing music from Unseen Power being used in the background of some of the drama segments. They used music from Destiny, Ready Willing and Able, and Sight Unseen. Later on in the video they actually had the full videos for Sight Unseen and In The Likeness of You. They are just the same as the ones from Backstage Pass. There were no interviews with Petra or anything, just the music and the two videos.

My wife came in while I was going through the tapes and she liked them. She decided she's going to keep them and show them to our youth groups. So I guess I won't be making it available through the Zone after all. But hey, maybe we'll make a few next generation Petheads, eh?
