Hello to the Pethead Nation...I'm back!

Post by St_Augustines_Pears » Sun Sep 25, 2005 1:33 pm

Greetings!

This is St_Augustines_Pears, and although it's been awhile...I'm back (like a belch from a bad onion!).

Well, a lot has happened since I was last online. My wife and I are still in the process of our divorce, mostly due to the fact that she needs $500 to finalize it. I stedfastly refuse to pay one penny toward the divorce...I told her, "If you want it, you pay for it.".

I went from living in a 2-bedroom apartment to renting a $400/month room in a boardinghouse just north of Des Moines (almost in Ankeny). The good news is I don't have to pay for any utilities (cable, water, phone, electricity...even internet service!). The bad news is I have to share a kitchen and bathroom with 4 other guys!

My daughter lives with her mom in Ankeny. I get to have her every other weekend. It's been really hard on my daughter...not having Daddy around all the time. It's also confusing for her, as my soon-to-be-ex has a new boyfriend who visits a lot (sometimes overnight).

I found out about PETRA retiring by reading an article in CCM magazine. I'm now reading posts on this site and petrarocksmyworld.com to catch up on the news.

2005 has been a really horrible year...my Dad passing away due to lung cancer, my impending divorce, and now, my favorite band is calling it quits. What else can happen? (Don't answer that).

Anyway, it good to be back. My email address is [email protected]. Please keep me in your prayers.

Well, hello there, it's good to "see" you again.

I'm sorry you've had a rough time, but it won't always be this horrible; God can still do His work in even a rough situation like this. Do the best you can for your daughter and focus on God. You may not be able to see it now, but He does see what's happening and He's in control. The wife will regret her choices one day.

Oh, and God's not finished with Petra yet. :)

You can send me a private message or e-mail any time you need to blow off steam, and I'll e-mail you later tonight or in the morning. You're in my prayers.

Hi epdc and Shell...

No, I never got any letters. I suspect that when my wife moved out back in mid-February, she forwarded all of the mail (hers and mine) to her new address. She probably threw away any mail I got. I had to go to the post office and get things straightened out to get my mail coming back to my address.

Thank you for thinking about me, though. It's been a rough seven months...trying to cope with my divorce and my Dad's death. I really haven't even had time to grieve properly.

It sounds like it has been a rough year for sure. Keep the faith and don't be shy to ask God for comfort. And, don't be shy in asking for our help or prayers.

I hope you get a chance to see Petra on their farewell tour.
