Sight Unseen video

Post by philtvnews » Mon Apr 10, 2006 3:34 pm

Do any of you know if Palm Springs, CA (or just east of)...where there are probably hundreds if not thousands of windmills along I-10 is where Petra filmed their Sight Unseen video (and was also the inspiration for the Unseen Power album cover art)? I was on vacation out in Los Angeles and drove by them...thinking...hey...I think I've seen this before in a Petra video!!!

I think they did part of it there, and part of it in northern California, in Livermore. I was there for a couple of days this last summer too and drove by them. It sure is windy going through there. :)

Yep, those are the windmills! I've driven through that area many times, and every time, I always play Sight Unseen over and over and over again. It's one of my very favorite things to do! Heck, I even have the back picture of the Backstage Pass video case, of Ronny rocking out in the windmill field, set as my wallpaper! :D

Anyways, yeah, the Palm Springs windmill field is where the majority of the video was shot. The Livermore windmill field, with the rolling hills, is where the Unseen Power cover was shot. There's also a little footage of the Livermore windmills in the video.

They have sprung up all over West Texas as well in the past few years. Out near McCamey, and also near Sweetwater. I'm sure they have them elsewhere in the Lone Star State as well.

There are a few miles of those Wind Mill things.. on I-39 West of Chicago. I seen them for the first time a few summers ago.. and thought of Petra.
