Farewell Dee-Vee-Dee!! It rrrocks!!

Post by yamasaaaki har har » Wed Jul 12, 2006 8:44 pm

While I was staying in Ohio I found the DVD at a Christian book store, but I haven't been able to watch it until today now that I arrived back in Iowa. I watched all the bonus features and they are really KooLL!! It was really nice to see and hear some of the members of Petra talk in person, and watching them rehearse for the concert was really funny. I didn't even know that quite a bit of you guys were on the DVD too! That gave me a chance to witness Petra Zone members "in person" as well, which for me is exciting because I've never met any of you. I also watched part of the concert and will watch the rest later. This DVD is really a blessing! :D

The DVD is great. One bad thing on mine though...after the 'extras' the dvd doesn't go back tot he menu...it just stops and have to reset...frustrating

Yeah, and it ends pretty abruptly too - right after the Promise Keepers guy mentions "Midnight Oil" - bam, it's over without a fadeout or nothin.

I finished watching the concert video but it wasn't too exciting because that's the exact same stuff I already listnened to a hundred times on the Farewell CD. I'm not sure why the guitar solo was edited but at least you get to hear the whole thing during the credits. I recognized some of you guys in the first row singing and jumping like crazy.

I was just really impressed by the bonus features. Really cool to see some of you Zoners talk in person - Elo, Musica, Spud, Enosh, Michael and Cat Jones, Sue D - and there were some other people interviewed (indoors) that I didn't know whether they were involved with PZ or not.

I have to admit, this DVD has grown on me. I'm still not crazy about the ADD editing style or the butchering of Bob Hartman's solo, but like my wife says, "It is what it is." My two year really enjoys it, too. He stands up and claps with the audience and nods his head in time with the music.
