I was looking for some more former Petra guys on facebook, And I came across a "Lonnie Tiffany Chapin." And I thought, "Cool! Lonnie from Petra!" So I requested his friendship. A month later...NO RESPONSE! So, I sent a message saying, "Hi Lonnie! Would you be my fb friend???
I love Petra, and since you're a former guy from Petra, I would really like to be your friend!"
Then, a day later...I get a MESSAGE! No friendship Acceptance, A MESSAGE! Saying some pretty nasty, yucky, stuff... It was something like this
"I dunno who the (bleep) you are, and I don't know who the (bleepity bleep) Petra is! I'm a
P-o-r-n-o Star! So get the ( Bleep) away from me!" And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
She then sent me a dirty picture! So! Did I learn my lesson the hard way? YES!
Those of you who are on Face Book, Be carefull in who you want to be friends with. I learned my lesson the hard way. And I don't want you to have to.

I'm sorry that happened, a simple "you're mistaking me for someone else" would have done just as well. You have to be VERY careful...Good rule of thumb, if you're not sure, don't send a friend request. And if they don't respond to a friend request, don't waste your time with them. There are all sorts out there.

Hmmm....that is odd. I friended Lonnie and Tiffany months ago and never got the hint of anything like that. Given the amount of hacking going on on Facebook...I wouldn't take this at face value. Tiffany was a pastor's kid...and I don't get the impression that she is living the prodigal life. Both her and Lonnie are actively involved in making a difference in their community in Oregon. Like I said...I'm wondering if someone hacked into her profile...

The enemy hates anything that will draw people into the Kingdom...I do not find it unreasonable to think that he could use the internet to cast doubt on God's people so as to sully the handiwork of the Father. Daniel is right...you will know them by their fruit...

It's very possible someone hacked the account; it's also possible there's more than one Lonnie Tiffany out there. That may not have been the one he sent the friend request to.

Just about anything is possible with the Internet. But in general, I wouldn't waste my time with someone I've sent a friend request to who hasn't responded.

I agree wholeheartedly, Shell. If someone doesn't respond to a friend's request, they have their reasons...whether we like them or not. To pester someone when we don't get the response we want seems to me to cross the line. Anyway, as with all things, Facebook is a tool that can be used for good or bad...

Oh, I'm not saying he pestered them; I'm just saying for the most part if they don't respond it's just better not to try to continue to contact them. It is a waste of time. He's probably better off not having this person on his friend's list if they're going to be so hostile anyway.
