Megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar was arrested today in Georgia on charges of attacking his 15-year-old daughter during an argument, WXIA-TV reports.

The founder and pastor of World Changers Church International is accused of simple battery and cruelty to children for allegedly attacking his daughter during an fight over whether she could attend a party.

The police report says Dollar choked his daughter, then threw her to the ground, punched her and hit her with his shoe during a fight at his metro Atlanta home.

When police interviewed Dollar, he said he tried to restrain his daughter when she "became very disrespectful," according to the report.

Dollar acknowleged spanking his daughter and wrestling her to the floor, but said it was because she hit him.

The responding officer noticed a scratch on the daughter's neck near her throat, WXIA reports. She tells police her father gave her the scratch during the fight.

Fayette County Sheriff's Office investigator Brent Rowan says the 50-year-old pastor "got physical" with her, leaving her with "superficial injuries," the Associated Press reports.

Dollar, who preaches a "Prosperity theology" in his Sunday sermons that are broadcast internationally, bonded out of a Fayette county jail this morning.

The theology, which teaches that God wants to bless the faithful with earthly riches, drew the attention of Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who targeted six ministers in an investigation in 2011 into the personal use of church-owned airplanes, luxury homes and credit cards by pastors and their families, the Associated Press reports.

All six insisted they comply with tax regulations for religious nonprofits. Dollar was one of four ministers who refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Does this surprise anyone? Not me. I think we will see more and more of this as time goes on; I believe we are near the end.

Weeeeeeeeell....Think about it. Kids today can play that human services/911 card and the parents are immediately the bad guy. This is the way our system is. Take some rebellious kid, who could possibly reflect poorly on the parents, who just happen to be ministers, and there is going to be some craziness from time to time. There is a reason PKs are PKs. There is lots of pressure and PKs are not allowed to be normal kids. They are expected to have what momma and daddy have and live it from birth. I don't agree with choking, but if my young, rebellious, daughter was trying to go to a party she was told she could not go to, I would do everything I could to keep here home.

One time my daughter was talked into leaving the house, without permission. She lied about who she was going to be with. She did that because "Weasel" was off-limits. "Weasel" was a liar who wanted to get in my daughters pants, just as he had been in other girls pants. She was too young and naive. I got in the car, chased them down, and darn near yanked the driver of their car out of his seat....with his seatbelt on. I then inserted my finger in in his boney collapsing chest and told him that there is nothing that he could do that I could not see through. I knew his game, and I would kill him if I saw him again. My wife yanked my daughter out of their car and we took her home.

It was not long before my daughter's eyes were opened, and she realized that we had her back. It was not long before she gave me a card, telling me that she was sorry, how much she realized she was loved, and that she knows I will always have her back. In the OT times, kids were stoned. We can't restrain with hands, spank or talk harshly to our kids, because it "will damage their psyche and self-esteem. Whatever. Some kids need some drastic measures across their rears to get their attention. Some kids need only a look or a word. There is no universal rule.

I am guessing that the daughter will change her story, apologize, and it will come out that Creflo was not as nutty as the article is making him out to be. There will be some damage control on this.

Agree with you Brent. My daughter is 4 so my time is coming, and I'm like you my kids will always know that I got their back.
