Petra's official website, petraband.com

Post by spottacus » Fri Jun 25, 2004 4:04 pm

This isn't a new subject, in fact it's a pretty old one: Petra's official website, www.petraband.com , is a real disappointment.

The link to the Petra board at inpop.com doesn't work, and that's a huge problem. The site is slick looking, but it hasn't been maintained worth sickem since it debuted. The reason this is a problem is that the official site is what really attracts browsers, and if it worked better there'd be a lot of wander-in traffic at Inpop's petra board. It sure brought in a lot of people when it was new (when it worked). That's record sales and concert attendance, people.

Does anyone associated with the band visit this board anymore? What can be done about this issue? Does the band know or care what's going on in this respect?

I agree, it's a shame it's not maintained and updated more efficiently, and they are losing people they could potentially reach. Justin's picture was still up the last time I was there for Heaven sake. They probably are aware it's not updated regularly, it's just not high on the list of their priorities.

Whoops, that's Inpop's website where Justin's picture is still up. :D My mistake. You could say the same things about Inpop's web site as petraband's. :P

Maybe it was just down for little while. I just tried it, and it's working fine. Pops right up with no problem at all.

It's the scrapbook that doesn't seem to work.

Like I said, I think the biggest problem is that the link to the messageboard doesn't work.

Spottacus... I honestly don't know what you're talking about. I clicked "Messageboard" and it loaded the inpop board right up.

Then it's fixed, and it's about time. As of last week it still wasn't working.

Apparently not. :P It's a shame, it's potentially a very good web site if they'd put a little effort into it, and they could do some good stuff as far as promoting the band with it. And I'm beginning to think inpop.com is a lost cause. Oh well, they're probably aware of all this. What they decide to do about it is up to them.

jws.com and petrarocksmyworld are really much better, they should take a few pointers from them.

.....Yeah, I've actually wanted to buy some of the cool merch that I didn't have the cash for at the shows. The items never made it onto the online store. What a bummer for me.....and the band. This is a costly problem for them, and I have absolutely no other tee shirts to wear!

But they are nominated for a grammy... I'm going to tune in to see if they win. They announce in May right? Oh wait, that was LAST May. Oh well.

They are probably aware of how the web site is. They'd have to be complete idiots not to be. It's just not high on their list of priorities, which is a shame. It shouldn't be that hard to find someone to work on it for them if they don't want to mess with it themselves, which I believe has been pointed out by several people. Oh well.
