You said how you felt and I think that is best. I will tell you in this day and age I think the artists especially the ones looking for their market and fighting daily for any press should make themselves more accessiable for the fans via internet, emails, blogs, FB, and Twitter. I think if CP really wants this to work this is going to be the only feasable way to get this off the ground. There are alot of secular artists like Def Leppard, Journey and a host of others that have gone this route to keep their name out there and in the consumers thoughts.
For instance last year we bought Def Leppard tickets (which were only $21 I might add) and there is this song off of Leppard's Slang album that is really unknown by most fans, but it is truly loved by my wife; On DL's Site my wife found an email that goes directly to their management and she requested this song for the Dallas show and she left her info including Twitter and sometime the next day Joe Elliott is tweeting my wife letting her know that they will make sure that song is on the set list for the Dallas show, and yes they played the song "Blood Runs Cold" I believe that to be the title.
Joe or any other artist for that matter doesn't have to do that but you know what it didn't hurt and it put their name and showed by however many followers Joe has that the fans come first.
Now CP doesn't have to get exactly like this, but you know what it won't hurt them but only help. This is a different age and market then it was 20-25 years ago and an artists has to use any means possible to keep their music in the consumer thoughts; If CP chooses not to do anything of this nature and make themselves more attainable to its fan base than I truly believe it is basically over and its time to give it up and find something else for them to do.
